Big Time Gaming Releases Final Countdown Slot

Australian casino software development company, Big Time Gaming, has launched its latest slot, Final Countdown, which is the sequel to Danger! High Voltage. Inspired by the Number One Hit Song from Swedish rock group, Europe, the slot was officially launched in the UK on 20th March 2019.

The Final Countdown game is very similar to Big Time Gaming’s popular Danger! High Voltage, and was originally teased to be titled Danger! High Voltage II.

Final Countdown Features

The layout is a six-reel, four-row grid that has 4,096 different ways to win, which all must include adjacent symbols from left to right. The game has a return to player (RTP) percentage of 96.56%, which is well above the industry average and in line with the software developer’s other titles. The major highlight is the potential to win a huge 36,000x the wager through a combination of multipliers and bonus features.

Not only is the music based on the smash hit from Europe, but the graphics for the Male symbol are also based on the lead singer, Joel Tempest. Otherwise, the symbols include the female astronaut, as well as the standard imagery as seen in the Danger! High Voltage slot. This includes the 9,10, J, Q, K and A as seen on playing cards. There are also a set of jewels in various colours that are the higher-paying symbols, as well as the Scatter symbol which is emblazoned with a golden FC.

The Final Countdown is going to be a big one. It’s going to punch a hole in the sky as players launch towards planet big win with those iconic keyboard notes blasting away in the background. Nik Robinson, Big Time Gaming CEO

Robinson continued, “The Big Time Gaming team has done a phenomenal job with this slot and it really is truly remarkable. The strength of the tune combined with the incredible math and state of the art mechanics has resulted in a slot that is out of this world.”

As described by Robinson, the combination of Joey Tempest as the male astronaut is pushed to the fore of this game, which also features a stage with flashing lights to emphasise the rock star atmosphere. The title song itself only plays during the free spins rounds.

New Volatility Feature

Though The Final Countdown does have a high volatility in the normal context of the word for slot games, it also has a brand new feature called the Volatility Feature as part of the two different free spins bonuses that can be triggered throughout the game.

Three scatter symbols on the grid will trigger two different bonuses that the player can choose between, which are called ‘The Countdown’ and ‘Heading for Venus’. Heading for Venus includes what BTG has called ‘Velocity Wilds’, which have a multiplier of up to 888 times, giving the player 15 free spins and a ‘Reel Clone’ feature that allows the bonus to be re-triggered indefinitely. The Countdown will give the player eight free spins, which introduce Roaming and Sticky Wilds and a multiplier of up to 256x.

The Countdown feature also include the new Big Time Gaming Volatily feature, which allows players to ‘level up’ and increase the volatility of the game across three different levels. Each level has its own special features like the ‘Cliff Hanging’ feature, which can re-trigger the bonus rounds again.

Distribution

The slot is available on the Relax Gaming Silver Bullet platform, which also includes Push Gaming and FELT titles. According to Relax Gaming Chief Product Officer, Simon Hammon, the platform operator is excited to offer the new game from BTG to its operators.

BTG’s game launches are always accompanied by great anticipation and we are proud to be bringing The Final Countdown to players in partnership with Big Time Gaming. Simon Hammon, Relax Gaming Chief Product Officer

The new slot will also be released through Scientific Games, a giant casino game conglomerate that is currently focusing on its expansion into the United States markets. Both Scientific Games and Relax Gaming work in partnership with BTG to offer the smaller company’s slots on a large scale.
